Well there is always small print. It helps protect you the consumer and us the supplier.
1. Cycle Service Limited (the Company us or we)
2. The Consumer (you)
So we are not Lawyers but we understand the need for laws.
We operate according to the consumers guarantees act and also BIANZ regulations.
FIXING STUFF:
We will always try and resolve issues using best practice and as with all these things communication between you and us is key.
If there is a problem that we fixed a day ago and you say it is still an issue then sure we will try our best to look at it again. The issue may be more complex than we allowed for.
We are also human and can make mistakes, as we all can. We will always try and fix the issue to the best of our ability.
If its our mistake you don't pay for the subsequent service , end of story.
However, we will not be held liable for any consequential loss financial , physical or otherwise as a result of the issue.
eg If we worked on your bike and ended up having to take it away. We will not be liable to pay your transport fees for the interim period.
We know that 99.9% of people wouldn't but there is always that .1% .
In life sometimes "Shit Happens". (this we feel should be in all T&C's)
e.g
You ask us to look at the hydraulic brakes. We look at them and they are indeed spongey. So we bleed the system replace fluid and the brakes are great again. However 2 months later your brakes feel spongey again. You contact us and we look at the brakes again. We can't see an air leak but guess that somewhere in the system there may be a tiny leak.
Now, its not something that could necessarily have been spotted on the first service, however , now we know there is one we have two options. Replace all the seals and cables on the brakes or replace the brake system which may actually be cheaper! So we would offer you either option but, expect that you would pay for it as we did our best practice in the first place.
CANCELLATIONS:
If you book a service and change your mind thats fine, provided you cancel the booking. We send out reminders by both e.mail and txt so to ensure you remember we are on our way. If however you do not cancel the booking and our operative shows up you will be liable to pay for the opportunity cost this involves including any travel and work time.
BOOKINGS MADE OUTSIDE OUR AREA OF OPERATION.
We currently cover the North Shore on Mon, Wed & Friday and the City Tuesday and Thursday.
If you are outside this area we operate a time/km travelled charge from our Belmont base and back so for example.
You are in Silverdale and you want your bikes looked at. The round trip for us is 30min each way (1hr) or 60km ($1.50/km+gst).
So the additional Extra cost on top of the service will be $90.00+gst
The cost is based on the distance or time depending on which is the most applicable. eg if the round trip is 50km but it is booked at rush hour and takes an hour each way then you will be charged for the time taken.
If you are in a place that you are not sure of distance or time eg Waiheke please contact us to get a cost prior to booking info@cycleservice.co.nz
HOW WE BEHAVE:
We always try and look at any given situation and ask what would we expect a reasonaable company to do and act?
We are reasonable and honest and we expect the same from our clients. If a product that we have supplied and fitted fails then we will investigate the reason and usually will try and replace or repair depending on the issue.
If ,however, you had a new chain and you don't maintain it chances are it will fail sooner or later (sooner probably) so, we will happily put another one on for you but you will be charged for parts and labour.
Likewise if we just indexed your gears and an hour later after transporting your bike it shifts badly again chances are your hanger got bent (again) . Its such a common issue and an easy one to avoid yet if we get the bike back and discover the hanger bent again......yes we will charge you for the time and offer you some very valuable advice. "TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE HANGER WHEN TRANSPORTING YOUR BIKE and LEANING IT AGAINST THINGS" there that may have just saved you $$$
PARTS FITTING:
We will always try and supply the most appropriate parts to suit your bike. We purchase all our products from reputable New Zealand Wholesalers .
Yes, we will always try and be competitive however, we are not under any obligation to match anyone elses price . Likewise if you supply us with parts that we feel are not suitable to task we reserve the right to refuse to fit them. This could be on the grounds of safety.
